Charming Chengdu, Land of Abundance

Chengdu has a long and unique history, with a profound cultural heritage. As early as about 4500 to 3700 years ago, a series of settlement centers of ancient Shu ancestors, known as the "Baodun Culture" in later generations, had appeared in the Chengdu Plain.

Chengdu, a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Sichuan Province, abbreviated as "Rong", also known as Rongcheng or Jincheng, is the capital of Sichuan Province. Chengdu is located in the southwestern region of China, the western part of the Sichuan Basin, and the hinterland of the Chengdu Plain. The terrain is flat, the river network is crisscrossing, the resources are abundant, and the agriculture is developed. It belongs to the subtropical monsoon humid climate and has been known as the "Land of Abundance" since ancient times.

  • Panda Base

    Pandas have lived on Earth for at least 8 million years. They are known as "living fossils" and "Chinese national treasures". They are also ambassadors of the World Wildlife Fund and flagship species for biodiversity conservation worldwide.

    The Chengdu Research Base of Panda Breeding was established on the basis of raising, treating, and breeding pandas at Chengdu Zoo.

    The Chengdu Research Base of Panda Breeding was established in 1987. Initially, there were only 6 sick, old, and disabled pandas. After years of effort, it has now developed into a captive population of 244 pandas and over 160 red pandas. In terms of scientific research, the base has overcome key technical challenges such as artificial breeding, reproduction and rearing, disease prevention and control, and population genetic management of pandas through innovative scientific research work, and has achieved multiple original scientific research results.

  • Qingcheng Mountain

    Qingcheng Mountain is green and quiet. The streams in the mountains and forests are gurgling, and the air is fresh and pleasant. As a holy land of Taoism, this place contains profound Taoist culture. Strolling through it, one can feel the spiritual energy between heaven and earth, forgetting the troubles of the world and immersing oneself in this peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

    The main scenic spot of Qingcheng Mountain Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, a world cultural heritage, a national key cultural relics protection unit, a national key scenic spot, a national AAAAA tourist attraction, a holy land of the Quanzhen Longmen Sect, one of the ten caves, one of the four famous Taoist mountains in China, one of the five immortal mountains, and one of the ten scenic spots in Chengdu.     Qingcheng Mountain is located in the southwest of Dujiangyan Irrigation Project City, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, 68 kilometers away from the urban area of Dujiangyan Irrigation Project City in the east, and 10 kilometers away from the southwest of Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project. The scenic area covers an area of 200 square kilometers. The highest peak, Laojun Pavilion, is 1260 meters above sea level. Qingcheng Mountain is divided into front mountain and back mountain. The peaks are surrounded by undulating peaks, and the trees are verdant and green, enjoying the reputation of "secluded in the world of Qingcheng".

    Dujiangyan Irrigation Project is not only a world-famous ancient water conservancy project in China, but also a famous scenic spot. The scenery near Dujiangyan Irrigation Project is beautiful, and there are many cultural relics and historic sites. After the Song and Yuan Dynasties, it was called Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, and was known as the "treasure of Zhenchuan". At the 24th General Conference of the United Nations World Heritage Committee in 2000, Dujiangyan Irrigation Project Water Conservancy Project was listed as a world cultural heritage because of its long history, grand scale, reasonable layout, scientific operation, and harmonious combination with the environment. Qingcheng Mountain and Dujiangyan Irrigation Project are of outstanding universal value in history and science. It is also a national AAAAA level tourist attraction and a national level scenic spot.
